"Mabuhay!" As the locals will greet you, it means "Welcome". Philippines constitutes of 7,107 islands located in the western Pacific Ocean. Since Philippines emerged from a former colony of Spain and the United States, there are over 96.0 million Filipinos with 2.36% growth annually that brings its population to rank the world’s 12th most populous country in the world.
Philippines recorded a firm economic growth GNP at 6.2% while GDP recorded 3.8% growth for 2008. Industry sector remains pre-dominantly strong with a contribution both construction (7.8%) and energy (7.3%) against GNP while Service sector focusing on Oil Dwelling and Real Estate remains fundamentally strong which contributes 5.7%.
Furthermore, Philippines will enjoy a positive economy with its energy reforms by the government which are expected to lead a stronger investment climate and raise investor confidence that will lead to more capital inflow.Goldman Sachs investment bank has identified that
Philippines is one of the “Next Eleven” economies or N-11 that will contribute to the industry and services sector such as tourism, business process outsourcing, real estates and energy services in the coming years.
